The township wanted to give the park a face-lift, McKee said, replacing frequently used equipment that was broken and unsafe. It also wanted to eliminate equipment that wasn’t often used by children.
The cost of the renovations totalled about $22,330. The equipment overhaul included new matting for the equipment and the swings, replacement of three pieces of equipment, the installation of two new pieces and the complete removal of one piece of equipment.
The new equipment includes a space whirl, merry-go-round and spring rider. All of the new equipment was ready to use on May 22.
“We wanted to put things in that are safe for the community to use,” McKee said. “We are very proud of our community park. We maintain our facilities to the T and want to keep things looking nice for the community.”
