Marysville post to focus on U.S. 33 corridor

The Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol will participate in a U.S. 33 Corridor Enforcement Project in Logan and Union Counties.

Troopers will focus on apprehending impaired drivers, detecting criminal activity, seat belt compliance, distracted drivers and commercial vehicle violations. The project will run from Wednesday to Sunday.

U.S. 33 has been identified as a highly traveled route for increased drug trafficking and criminal activity, according to information from the Post. The road has also had a large number of serious and fatal crashes from the Indian Lake Region to the Ohio and West Virginia border.

Troopers and other law enforcement officials will perform traffic stops along U.S. 33 with the goal of reducing crashes, deterring criminal activity and increasing use of seat belts throughout the corridor.
