About 1,200 grams of powder cocaine was found in a red toy car in the living room of the home, court records show.
The raid also turned up Ecstasy, 38 unknown pills and a Smith and Wesson .38 caliber revolver with five live rounds, according to court records.
A Clark County Common Pleas judge sentenced Terrell to 29 years in an Orient prison, ordered him to pay a $20,000 fine and suspended his drivers license for 15 years.
Assistant Clark County Prosecutor Dan Driscoll called Terrell a large scale dealer in Springfield and said his sentence sends a strong message to area drug dealers.
“It tells drug dealers that if they’re going to traffic in drugs in our community that we’re going to come after you and we’re going to make sure you won’t do this kind of stuff in our community anymore,” Driscoll said.
Terrell was a part of a drug trafficking ring in the Dayton-Springfield area that the Dayton Police drug task force began investigating in April 2010, according to court records.
As part of the investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration along with other state and local agencies served warrants related to drug trafficking and money laundering at numerous locations in Montgomery County.
The investigation found that Terrell and a Dayton resident received about $1,000 per ounce of cocaine distributed, court records show.
He was convicted July 19 by a Clark County grand jury for possession of crack and powder cocaine, both first-degree felonies, and possession of Ecstasy, a fifth-degree felony, according to court records.
He was acquitted, however, on charges of having a weapon while under disability.
