Man indicted in connection with shooting

An Urbana man was indicted by a Champaign County grand jury this week in connection with a shooting in downtown Urbana in November.

Michael A. Dean. 29, 0f 1063 S. Main St., was indicted on charges that include illegal possession of a firearm in a liquor permit premises, possessing criminal tools, carrying a concealed weapon, tampering with evidence and having weapons under disability.

The incident began last month when a St. Paris police officer was driving by an alley in the 100 block of South Main Street and witnessed a man with a firearm having an argument. Officers from the Urbana Police Division approached the area, but authorities accused Dean of firing a shot and then fleeing on foot. No one was injured. Dean was later located by Champaign County Sheriff’s deputies in the 400 block of South Kenton Street.

Others indicted include:

• Charles McDonald Jr., 18, of Dayton, on charges of burglary and petty theft.

• Joshua R. Johnson, 18, of Dayton, on charges of burglary and petty theft.

• Kermeth M. Cochran, III, 48, last known address 1058 N. Main St., Urbana, on one count each of failure to register and failure to provide notice of change of address.

• James T. Lewis, 27, whose address was not listed, on three counts of trafficking in drugs.

• Joshua M. Branson, 22, Tri-County Jail, on four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

• Stormy D. McCue, 32, of Columbus, Ohio, on one count possession of heroin and two counts possession of criminal tools.

• Derek L. Clark, 30, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, on one count aggravated possession of drugs.

• Ashley N. Hollar, 27, of 1230 W. Main St., Springfield, on one count each of theft and theft from an elderly or disabled person and four counts of forgery.

• Dillon R. Jarvis, 19, of 2515 Sunset Ave., Springfield, on one count each of burglary, petty theft and receiving stolen property.

• Lawrence A. Ratleff Jr., 55, of Bellefontaine, on one count each of trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin and tampering with evidence.

• Tisha A. Lyburtus, 37, of Bellefontaine, on one count each of trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin and tampering with evidence.

• Jonathan D. Back, 19, of Carlisle, Ohio, on one count each of possession of criminal tools and trafficking in marijuana.

• Tameeka L. Chamberlain, 23, of 129 E. Broadway St., Urbana, on one count of domestic violence and two counts each of felonious assault and aggravated assault.

• Corey A. Pelfrey, 26, of 387 W. Main St., Mechanicsburg, on one count each of burglary, receiving stolen property and grand theft when the property is a firearm or dangerous ordinance.

• Sean R. Pond, 35, of 1275 Neal St., Urbana, on one count each of receiving stolen property and theft.

• Terry V. Laird, 44, of 861 S. Main St., Urbana, on one count each of burglary, theft from an elderly person or disabled adult and receiving stolen property.

• Brandon T. Lucas, 21, Tri-County Jail, on one count of failure to provide notice of change of address.

• Philip A. Hammons, Jr., 24, of 1060 S. High St., Urbana, on one count each of possession of heroin and theft.

•Mack A. Wright, 42, of 5103 Bowers Road, Cable, on one count of possession of cocaine.

• Craig A. McAlexander, 35, Tri-County Jail, on one count each of operating a vehicle while under the influence and five or more equivalent offenses within 20 years of offense.

• Angelene F. Cremeans, 52, of 2551 S. U.S. 68, Urbana, on one count each of attempted aggravated trafficking and conspiracy.

• Heath M. Michael, 27, of 7836 Wesley Chapel Road, West Liberty, on one count each of conspiracy and falsification.

• Justin N. Cremeans, 21, of 2844 Red Coach Drive, Springfield, on one count each of attempted aggravated trafficking and conspiracy.
