OSHP said in a release that 50-year-old Brian Scott Wilson was driving south on Selma Pike in a 2005 Cadillac CTS when the car went off the left side of the road and crashed into a mailbox and a driveway, sending the vehicle airborne.

The car then crashed into a utility pole and a tree.

Emergency crews extracted Wilson from the car, and he was flown to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

OSHP said that speed and failing to wear a seatbelt were both factors in the crash.

Lt. Brian K. Aller said, “Speed and failure to wear a seatbelt continue to be the leading contributing factors in fatal and injury crashes in Clark County. Obeying the speed limit and buckling up greatly increase your odds of surviving such tragedies.”

This is the sixth fatal crash in Clark County this, OSHP said.

This crash remains under investigation.
