Dulcimer Club to perform today
Springfield Dulcimer Club will perform from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today during the Downtown Sounds concert series at City Hall Plaza in Springfield. Mela Urban Bistro will have boxed lunches available for $6.
Reunion
Kenton Ridge Class of ’01
Kenton Ridge High School Class of 2001 will hold its 10th class reunion July 29-30. A social is planned for 8 p.m. Friday at Mike and Rosy’s Press Box. The reunion will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Fireman’s Lodge on N. Bird Road.
Cost is $20 each or $35 per couple before July 23. Cost will be $25 each at the door. Contact heather shaffer@nelsd.org for information.

Amateur radio event Saturday
The Independent Radio Association, along with other amateur radio clubs and operators, will participate in Field Day 2011. Field Day, sponsored by the American Radio Relay League, is an opportunity to practice emergency communications.
Field Day in Springfield will be at the picnic shelter behind the Springview Government Center, 3130 E. Main St., on Saturday. Visitors are welcome beginning at 2 p.m.
Amateur radio operators licensed by the Federal Communications Commission will be available to answer questions and to offer opportunities to talk with amateur operators in other states and Canadian provinces.

Journey of Faith Car Show Saturday
Journey of Faith Fellowship Church, 163 N. Chillicothe St., South Charleston, will host its third annual Journey of Faith Car Show at 1 p.m. Saturday.
All years, makes and model cars are welcome to participate. Dash plaques will be issued to the first 25 registered.
Awards will be given for Best of Show, second and third place, Kids Choice, Top Ford, Top GM, Top Chrysler and Top Truck.

Northridge Lions install officers
Mark Miller was installed as president of The Northridge Lions for 2011-12.
Other officers are: Roy Mulkey, Rick Holbrook and Tom Geiger, vice presidents; Al Evans and Jack Hollingsworth, treasurer and assistant; Dewey Volgamore and Frank Lewis, secretary and assistant; Bill Black and Bob Hale, Tale Twister and assistant; Kenny Jones and H.K. Jones, Lion Tamers; Tom Randall and Dick Feldner, two-year directors; and Terry Dyer, membership director.
The Northridge Lions’ motto raises thousands of dollars each year to support vision care charities and other local community projects. Library events
• Peter Rushton will visit the library from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday with live reptiles and amphibians. The program will be P.T. Reptiles Blimey laddie, it’s a boa! Learn about and maybe even touch some of nature’s most amazing creatures.
The free program is best for children ages 4 and up.
• The 10th Annual New Carlisle Worm Race will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. Bring your slinky speedster to Wiggley Field for some NASCAR-style racing adventures.
After the Olympic theme and a salute to the flag, your worm will have a minute (actually two) to win it!

Civic District Happy Hour today
The Springfield Preservation Alliance will hold its Civic District Happy Hour Tour at 6 p.m. today. The 45- minute walking tour features landmarks like the U.S. Post Office, News-Sun Building and Covenant Presbyterian Church, and is followed by a tasty beer or soda at Seasons Bistro and Grille.
