Bank official to chair Light the Night Walk

Phil Teusink, community president of Huntington Bank, was recently named as the corporate chair of its Springfield Light the Night Walk, The Central Ohio Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual fundraising event to raise money for cancer research and patient services.

Youth triathlon to benefit playground

The 2012 Lil Star’s triathlon will be July 1 at Northridge Swim club, 4530 Ridgewood Road West.

Three age divisions and distances will be offered. The 5-6 age division will include a 50-yard swim, 1/2-mile bike ride and a 1/4-mile run. The 7-10 group will include a 100-yard swim, 1.5-mile bike ride and ½-mile run. Ages 11-14 will compete in a 200-yard swim, 3-mile bike ride and 1-mile run.

Awards will be given to the top two finishers in each division and the top two boys and girls in each individual age.

The first race will begin at 8 a.m. for 5-6; 8;30 a.m. for 7-10 and 9 a.m. for 11-14. Participants are asked to arrive one hour before projected start time.

The cost is $20 if registered before today; $25 after. Proceeds will benefit Northridge School’s playground fund. Register at www.speedy-feet.com. STAFF REPORT

Bow Wow Wash to raise funds for library

The Best Friends Pet Assisted Therapy group will host its fourth annual Bow Wow Wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 21 at Meadow View Growers, 755 N. Dayton Lakeview Road.

The event will benefit the Clark County Public Library Children’s Department. Proceeds will be used to purchase books for CCPL Children’s Department. Best Friends’ volunteers will give animals a bath, and pet assisted therapy teams will be on hand to answer questions. STAFF REPORT

Central Class of ’71 reunion June 30

Catholic Central High School graduates and friends are invited to a Class of ’71 party at the Elks Lodge, 1536 Villa Road, beginning at 6 p.m. June 30. The cost is $10 per person.

A golf scramble is also planned for 12:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person.
