Master gardeners answer questions

The Ohio State University Extension of Clark County will host a Garden Walk on July 12.

Aspiring gardeners can come and learn timely maintenance tricks for landscapes, as well as ask questions of Master Gardener volunteers.

The event is free and open to the public. The walk is from 7 p.m. to about 9 p.m. at the Gateway Learning Garden at Clark County Agricultural Agencies, 4400 Gateway Blvd. STAFF REPORT

Veterans office holding open house

The Clark County Veterans Office, located on 120 S. Center St., is hosting an open house for veterans from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.

A courtyard next to the building will be used to grill out and other refreshments will be served.

The first 25 veterans to stop by the open house will receive a free gift.

Bradley Memorial Golf Outing July 19

The Links at Windy Knoll, located on 500 Roscommon Drive, is hosting its second Luther Bradley Memorial Golf Outing on July 19.

The golf will begins at 1 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served afterward.

Applications must be turned in by July 6. Cost is $42 per person, which includes half cart, greens fee and prizes. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will cost $18 per person.

ENON

Openings available on 2 village boards

The village of Enon is looking for volunteers to fill one opening each on its Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commission.

Applicants must live within the Enon corporation limits.

If you want to serve, bring a letter of interest to the Enon Government Center, 363 E. Main St., or mail the letter to Box 232, Enon, OH 45323.

The village administrator and mayor will recommend candidates to village council members, who will then select the board members. STAFF REPORT

Register by July 2 for football camp

The National Trail Parks and Recreation District will hold its annual football camp from July 9 to 12 at Davey Moore Park.

The camp is for boys and girls ages 8 to 14.

The coach for the camp will be former Michigan State University football player Nicholas Myers.

Camp will be held each night from 6 to 8 p.m.

Registration is $35 and must be done by July 2. STAFF REPORT

Prices raised for background checks

Effective 8 a.m. Monday, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office will increase the price for the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation or federal FBI background checks from $30 to $35.

The combined cost for both checks, if needed, will go from $60 to $70.

The price increase was due to a re-evaluation of the price increases from the county agencies that adjoin Clark County, according to a news release. STAFF REPORT
