Master Gardeners plan Jubilee

The Master Gardener volunteers of Clark County will hold their annual Garden Jubilee at 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4 at PrimeOhio Corporate Park, 4400 Gateway Blvd.

More than 800 varieties of plants will be displayed. The Loosely Strung Band will perform.

The grounds are open to the public and food is free. Final planning for the event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. July 16 at the OSU Extension Office. STAFF REPORT

School board to meet July 10

Library plans zombie night

The Clark County Public Library will hold Zombify the Night for teens ages 13 to 18 at 6 p.m. July 9 in the Gaier Room at the Main Library, 201 S. Fountain Ave.

Fireworks, concert set for fairgrounds

The 18th annual Old Fashioned Country Fireworks will be held at 10 p.m. Tuesday at the Clark County Fairgrounds.

A country music concert, sponsored by K99.1 FM, will begin at 7 p.m. The gates open at 6 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at dark. The rain date will be July 13.

Holiday celebration Tuesday at VFW

The Enon Community Celebration and Fireworks will kick off at 5 p.m. Tuesday at VFW 8437 George Rogers Clark Memorial Post, 5075 Enon-Xenia Pike.

Old-fashioned games set July 4

Friends of the Clark County Park District will hold its annual afternoon of old-fashioned games such as three-legged races and sack races on the holiday.

Animal Welfare group plans event

The Animal Welfare League of Clark County is hosting its first Hot Dogs and Cool Cats event from 1 to 3 p.m. July 8 at the Animal Welfare League Farm on 6330 Willowdale Road.

There will be numerous activities including face-painting, corn hole, cat-petting, dog-walking and a scavenger hunt.

Admission is $3 per person or $5 per family and includes lunch.

Dogs and cats will be available for adoption upon completion of a successful home visit. Dogs are $60 and cats are $35.
