County offers online market
The Champaign County Virtual Farmer’s Market will open the week of May 6. The market will be available online at www.champaign oh.locallygrown.net. Started through the Champaign County Community Improvement Council, it will make locally grown food more accessible to residents who cannot attend a traditional market.
Vendors will post their available inventory on the website each Sunday. Customers who register will be notified by email, and can shop online until 8 p.m. that Tuesday to place their orders. Vendors will prepare the orders and bring them on Thursday to the Champaign Family YMCA, where customers can pick them up between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Payment is due at the time of pickup. Vendors with questions can contact Heather Tiefenthaler at firstname.lastname@example.org.
