Kick off the first weekend in 2020 with these activities in Clark, Champaign Counties

Here are things to do in Clark and Champaign counties on the first weekend of the new year.

Clark County:

Aperitivo Night

Salato Deli and Le Torte Dolci, 40 N. Fountain Ave. in Springfield, will host a “pre-dinner” happy hour, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Attendees will receive free snacks with drink purchases

This event will feature four cocktails including the Limoncello Margarita and the Salato Martini. Some of the cocktails are made using smoke.

Salato Deli will be open for dinner on Friday and will serve various items including sandwiches and pastas.

International Quilt Exhibition

The Springfield Museum of Art, 107 Cliff Park Road in Springfield, will host an opening reception, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, for Color Improvisations 2.

This an international quilt exhibition featuring 50 large quilts by 43 artists from Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Scotland, and the United States.

Admission is free for members and $5 for non-members.

Motorcycle Swap Meet

Walneck’s motorcycle swap meet will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Clark County Fairgrounds, 4401 S. Charleston Pike in Springfield.

There will be leather, shirts, and memorabilia for sale. New and used part vendors like Ariel and Zundapp will be at the event.

Admission is $9 per person and parking is free.

Champaign County: 

Flea Market and Antique Show 

The Urbana Antique Show and Flea Market will be 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Champaign County Fairgrounds, 384 Park Ave. in Urbana.

This event will feature a variety of goods, antiques, collectibles, and flea market items.

Admission is $2 per person.
