K99.1FM nominated for Station of the Year by CMA

Dayton’s #1 country music station K99.1FM (WHKO-FM), has been nominated by the Country Music Association (CMA) for Station of the Year.

The CMA announced Wednesday its nominees for medium market Station of the Year, and K99.1FM, (WHKO-FM) was one of six on the list. K99.1 FM, has long been the country music station of choice for country music fans in the Dayton-Springfield area.

“All of us are absolutely thrilled to receive such a huge honor as a CMA nomination,” said WHKO-FM Program Director and host Nancy Wilson. “We have all worked hard to give our Miami Valley listeners the best country music station. To be recognized for this is a dream come true for us and a wonderful tribute to our amazing listeners.”

Winners will be announced in October and honored during the 49th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 4th at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, according the Country Music Association.

The CMA Awards nominees and winners are determined by the more than 6,300 industry professional members of CMA, which when established in 1958 became the first trade organization formed to promote an individual genre of music, according the the association.

K99.1FM is an affiliate of Cox Media Group Ohio, which also owns WHIO-TV, WHIO-Radio and the Dayton Daily News, Springfield News-Sun and the Journal-News
