If making it through each day seems like a juggling act, Community Health Foundation may have a solution for you.
“Juggling Life” is the Foundation’s 2015 annual meeting theme, focused on balancing life’s many demands like work and relationships with maintaining health and wellness. It will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts & Conference Center, 275 S. Limestone St., in Springfield.
The event will also include social time, beverages and appetizers, followed by a program detailing the Foundation’s mission and work. Professional juggler, motivational speaker and best-selling author Curtis Zimmerman is the keynote speaker.
“Curtis attracts a diverse audience, perfect for our demographic, and we think it will make for a wonderful evening,” said Diane Van Auker, the Foundation’s project manager.
Zimmerman has an interactive program and said that juggling can be an acquired skill, if you accept that the only way to learn is to let the ball drop.
“I like to stress a few principles: You are the star of your own life, you get to write the script, and you cast your show,” he said.
Zimmerman had to overcome his own share of life struggles to get where he is now, including an unstable family life as a child, dyslexia and frequent hospitalizations.
“Nothing was handed to me,” he said. “I wasn’t going to let what I didn’t have get in the way of reaching my goals. I also became a magician, mime and fire eater as well as a juggler.
“I’m still a work in progress and I want to help others reach (a high) performance level along with me.”
The meeting is open to everyone and admission is $20 per person, in advance or at the door. Reservations are suggested at 937-523-7002.
