Power restored for DP&L customers in Montgomery, Clinton counties

UPDATE @ 11:08 p.m.:  Power has been restored in Montgomery and Clinton counties, according to the DP&L's  online outage map.

A reported hit-and-run incident involving a vehicle and issues with trees are being pinpointed as the causes of power outages that affected approximately 1,369 Dayton Power & Light customers in three counties Tuesday afternoon.

At last check, about 5:30 p.m., approximately 900 customers were still without service, according to the utility’s online outage map.

Mary Ann Kabel, a spokeswoman with the utility, said crews are on scene of the hit-and-run reported in Miamisburg and they are investigating. At 5:30 p.m., 463 outages were being reported in that Montgomery County city, according to the DP&L online outage page.

Montgomery County Regional Dispatch had no information about the hit-and-run, as to whether any injuries had been reported.

Electric service in Champaign County to approximately 465 outages has been restored after crews had to redirect power because of trees in Urbana, Kabel said. Service was restored about 5 p.m., she said.

In Clinton County, an issue with trees in Wilmington led to approximately 436 reported outages at 4:45 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m., 437 in that county were still without electric service.
