Hindu Community of Springfield donates $11K for scholarships

The Clark State Foundation received more than $11,000 from the Hindu Community of Springfield for its Foundation Scholars programs.

“We greatly appreciate the generous support of the Hindu Community of Springfield,” said Toni Overholser, director of the Clark State Foundation. “This generous gift will allow us to transform the lives in the Springfield community through education.”

Clark State to train local workforce through Ohio’s new TechCred program

In September, the Hindu Community of Springfield hosted a BollyX dance/fitness event at Clark State and raised $11,505 for a new scholarship.

“Many members of the organization are deeply involved in our efforts; they are Clark State alumni, donors and foundation board members. They understand the needs of the Springfield community and our students,” Overholser said.

Dr. Ravi Khanna, president of the Hindu Community of Springfield, said the organization is pleased to support Clark State.

“Our community is represented within Clark State as faculty, staff and students. We’ve been in Springfield for more than 40 years, and we want to promote Clark State however we can within the Hindu community,” he said.

Clark State in Springfield appoints new members to Board of Directors

More than 50 scholarships are available to students through the Clark State Foundation, which works closely with local businesses and donors that provide over $300,000 in scholarships annually.

The scholarships are awarded throughout the year to part-time and full-time students based on financial needs, academic performance or a specific program of study.
