Half Pint Brawlers and other bloodthirsty menaces headline Halloween Haunt

MASON — The newest stars of Kings Island’s Halloween Haunt may not be tall enough to ride the park’s signature roller coasters, but still promise to make your stomach’s knot in suspense.

Half Pint Brawlers, a troupe of “psycho” little people wrestlers featured on Spike TV, will perform four shows nightly during the month-long celebration of Halloween.

Organizers say not to sell these brawlers short — despite their stature, they will bring fans to their feet in excitement for their brutal, bloody matches, filled with fisticuffs, death defying leaps, and bloodying chair shots.

Thrills and chills will come in all shapes and sizes during the Halloween Haunt, which is open from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays between Sep. 24 and Oct. 30.

The annual celebration of all things scary will also include 14 intense haunted attractions, including Wolf Pack, a new werewolf-themed maze. Other attractions include Slaughter House, in which a butcher shop becomes the cutting edge of horror; Urgent Scare, where patients shouldn’t expect to come out unscathed; Cornstalkers, a haunted corn maze; and Trail of Terror, a haunted maze that takes visitors through the densest woods surrounding the park, a trip not everyone may return from.

Returning to Halloween Haunt is Hot Blooded, a live stage show combining vampires, blood and rock music. The show is held at 8, 9:30, 11, and midnight at the Showplace theater.

The Half Pint Brawlers will begin their shows the weekend of Oct. 1 and perform at 7:30, 9, 10:30 and midnight in the Festhaus.

Twenty of the park’s best known rides, including The Beast, Diamondback, Vortex and others will be open during Halloween Haunt as well.

Parents are advised that Halloween Haunt includes graphic scenes and intense images that is intended for mature audience and not recommended for children.
