Greenon names new principal, assistant principal at high school

Greenon Local Schools is naming new leadership for the high school.

Jared Shore and Adam Billet are set to replace principal Tim Hale at Greenon High School beginning in August.

“Both of these individuals care about students and will lead by example,” Greenon Superintendent Brad Silvus said. “They are great role models for both staff and students.”

Shore will become principal and Billet will become assistant principal after Hale retires in August. Silvus said that Hale served four years as principal, was a valuable asset, and will be missed.

Before being promoted, Shore was assistant principal at the Greenon High School. He was with the Greenon Local School District for 17 years.

“Mr. Shore is an extremely dedicated educator,” Silvus said. “He worked hard to develop leadership skills and a vision that will carry the building into the future.”

Silvus also said that Shore has a positive rapport with students, staff, and parents.

Before being promoted, Billet was the athletic director at Greenon High School. Silvus said that he was also a dedicated educator and strived to get better each day. Interviews are underway to determine for a replacement to fill the athletic director’s position, Silvus said.

“Mr. Billet has worked tirelessly as athletic director and will bring that same drive to his new role,” Silvus said. “He was an outstanding teacher who worked well with students, staff, and parents.”

Silvus said that Shore and Billet are ready for the job because they have the experience. Both of them have worked in leadership positions in the district, served on various district and building level committees, coached, and taught at a high level.
