‘Girls Gone Wild’ unleashed in Springfield Thursday night

SPRINGFIELD — The Girls Gone Wild party bus once again made its way to Springfield — with its teeming throngs of nubile coeds — this week for the first time since fall.

The infamous event, with its DVD series of young women cheerfully lifting their tops in public, set up shop at Spirits, 2118 N. Limestone St., Thursday night, Feb. 11.

Girls Gone Wild made its Springfield debut back on Nov. 21 at the Night Gallery Lounge.

Local promoter Chuck Harris knows Girls Gone Wild has its fans — and its detractors.

“Of course, it’s Girls Gone Wild,” Harris said. “But it’s a nightclub promotion. They’re the No. 1 nightclub promotion in the country. Just look the other way.”

If you’re a bar owner, Girls Gone Wild, it would seem, is just too good for business.

“There’s a huge demand for them,” Harris said. “People go and have a good time.”
