Get a behind-the-scenes look at Champaign County’s Cedar Bog

The Cedar Bog Nature Preserve will host an annual Skunk Cabbage Walk at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28.

Cedar Bog Nature Preserve Volunteer Naturalist Cheryl Erwin will lead the walk. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for Ohio Historical Society and Cedar Bog Association members. Children 6 and older are $4.

In March, Mark Shieldcastle of the Black Swamp Bird Observatory will discuss the spring migration of birds. Shieldcastle is the Research Director of the Black Swamp Bird Observatory along Lake Erie’s shoreline. An off-the-boardwalk tour will be offered as part of the event, so guests are asked to reserve a seat early for this limited availability workshop.

This event will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 12 and pre-registration is required. The cost for the off-the-boardwalk tour, which will follow his presentation is $25 per person or $20 for Ohio History Connection or Cedar Bog Association members. The cost for the presentation will be $10 per person or $5 for Ohio History Connection or Cedar Bog Association members.
