Emory and Griest have been involved in the community for many years, according to information they submitted to the Springfield News-Sun Voters Guide.
Emory is an Advanced EMT and Firefighter for the township. She is married and has six children.
Griest said she has lived in the community since she was 3-years-old and has raised children and now grandchildren in the township.

Both candidates said tackling rising costs is one of the biggest challenges facing the township. They also said they want to maintain the quality of services while cutting costs.
Griest said she has been able to reduce the township’s State Audit costs and work with the bank to earn more interest on township funds, stretching the tax dollars.
In 2013, interest was $418.66. To date, this year’s interest earnings are $14,672, Griest said.
“I am honest, responsible and dedicated,” Griest said. “This community has been a great place to raise a family. I hope I will be able to continue to give back to the community by continuing to serve as your Fiscal Officer.”

Emory said she wants to help leaders of various township departments explore new sources of revenue and work closely with the trustees to assure tax dollars are spent in the best interest of the community.
“Working as the secretary for the township, I have acquired a significant knowledge as to the operations of all township departments. This enables me to understand the specific needs of each area,” Emory said. “This in turn is helpful when looking at budgets and expenses.”
