Former Springfield South athlete killed in single-car accident

Springfield native Eric Moore Jr., 28, died in a one-car auto accident in Lindenberg, Germany on Friday, Oct. 9.

Moore played wide receiver and defensive back for the Cenaplexx Blue Devils, a semi-pro arena football team. While returning home from practice approximately 12:30 p.m., Moore’s car hit a slick spot on the road and went down an embankment and struck head-on into a tree.
