Fire crews fighting large vacant house fire in Springfield

Fire crews are fighting a large fire in a reportedly vacant house in the 1000 block of Tibbetts Avenue in Springfield.

In scanner traffic, we heard firefighters say they were taking a defensive approach to putting out the fire, meaning fighting it from outside the house, and that flames were burning up through the roof.
