The crash happened Saturday when Dan Hasting stopped for a striping truck on OH-571. A minivan then rear-ended Hasting.

Deputies confirmed the striping truck had all proper safety equipment, lights and personnel. No contact was made with the striping truck.

The driver of the minivan that struck the Honda was identified as Charles Robbins, 60 of Sidney. He and his passenger, Janet Robbins, 70 also of Sidney, were taken to Upper Valley Medical Center.

A third driver, James Elkins, 42 of New Carlisle, was driving a pick-up truck that struck the Hasting’s vehicle after it had been rear-ended and pushed into an oncoming lane, deputies said.

Elkins was taken to Soin Medical Center.

Libbee Hasting is still listed in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital.
