Extra security greets Bengals fans tonight

Security was heavy Monday night as extra security greeted Bengals fans in the aftermath of the Paris attacks.

The extra security, which included officers stationed throughout the perimeter of the downtown facility, was ordered up by the NFL after Friday’s terrorist attacks that left more than 100 dead and injured.

The NFL increased security at stadiums throughout the country. Fans heading to see Cincinnati take on the Houston Texans were told to arrive early.

City officials have said there are not active threats in the Queen City area.

A regional operations center, where local authorities will coordinate security efforts, will remain open at least through the game. Kickoff for the nationally televised game is at 8:30 p.m.

Bengals officials have said there will be extra staff at the stadium to help fans get through security, but a team spokesman says getting to the game early will help fans get through the lines.
