1 in custody after occupants bail when vehicle hits house in Clark County

UPDATE @ 8 a.m: One person is in custody after an unknown number of occupants fled a crash scene after striking a house on South Bird Road Friday morning.

According to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post, a Chevrolet Venture was traveling north on South Bird Road when it went off the right side of the road and struck the house in the 1900 block.

The occupants bailed on foot, but after a search of the area, one person was located and is currently in custody.

The residents were inside the house at the time of the crash, but were not injured, the release stated.

The crash does not appear to be weather-related and remains under investigation by state troopers.

Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Springfield police assisted troopers.
