Deputies: Logan County woman killed in crash caused by suspected drunk driver

A suspected drunk driver caused a crash that killed another driver on U.S. 68 Saturday night, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported around 7 p.m. Saturday in the 3800 block of U.S. 68, south of Bellefontaine.

Amanda Taylor, 32, of Belle Station, Logan County, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Taylor was driving north on U.S. 68 when an SUV, driven by David McLaughlin, 40, of Bellefontaine, went left of center and crashed into Taylor’s vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

McLaughlin was taken by CareFlight medical helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton for treatment of serious injuries, deputies said.

Deputies said alcohol use by McLaughlin is a suspected factor in the crash, but tests are pending.
