Clark State to offer professional sales certification

Clark State Community College will offer a new online course beginning in February.

The Professional Sales Ready Certification is a seven-week, 33-hour, non-credit course, according to news release from the college.

“We are excited to offer this innovative training opportunity to our region,” said Lesli Beavers, director of workforce and business solutions for Clark State. “Our new Professional Sales Ready Certification will provide a valuable advantage for in-demand positions.”

The course will be interactive, using assessments and role plays to prepare students for successful sales careers that align with their strengths, the release says.

“It provides students with a comprehensive knowledge of the sales cycle, setting and meeting goals, networking, utilizing Salesforce, CRM, online research and tools, self-branding and preparing and presenting sales-related proposals,” Beavers said. “Clark State will also provide students with additional coaching sessions to help them polish their resume and prepare for sales positions interviews.”

Beavers said, according to Ohio’s In Demand Jobs list, sales positions are expected to continue to grow with more than 6,000 individuals currently employed and another 900 positions open, the release says.

“Another exciting aspect of this program is the direct employer partnership; we are actively engaging with local employers to connect our students with their roles. Clark State works with local employers to create role plays and curriculum modules to ensure our students are prepared for local positions,” Beavers said. “We can also partner with employers to fully customize the program to train their existing sales workforce.”

The course will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 4 through March 24, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
