Clark County Combined Health District receives $42K traffic grant

The Clark County Combined Health District (CCCHD) received a $42,000 traffic safety grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s (ODPS) Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO).

CCCHD will use the grant to work with local businesses, schools, and law enforcement agencies to educate the community on seatbelt usage and traffic safety awareness, according to CCCHD’s press release.

“Partnerships are critical to the success of any safety effort and we are committed to working with community and state partners to address traffic safety concerns in Clark County,” said Leslie Stine, Safe Communities Coalition Coordinator for Clark County.

Clark County and the City of Springfield will hold community education fairs, festivals, safety days, work events, and wellness programs to educate the community.

The grant funds are passed through OTSO from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to support statewide partnerships and focus on areas of traffic safety like restraint use, impaired driving, motorcycle safety, and youth drivers.
