Champions Center in Springfield to discontinue hosting events until April

The Champions Center Expo located at the Clark County Fairgrounds will be temporarily suspending operations and events until the beginning of April due to coronavirus concerns.

“The Champions Center is complying with recommendations from state health departments and federal agencies,” according to a post on its website.

The expo center will remain closed until at least April 6, the post added.

“We are in the process of reaching out to all of our scheduled clients on an individual basis. If you have specific questions please feel free to contact the Champions Center Office at 937-324-4353,” representatives of the expo center said on Monday.

The center originally was set to host an open horse show over the weekend and another the weekend after. The Blue Ribbon Classic Saddlebred Show was also slated to be held there on April 3.

"We have reached out to and consulted with our local Health Department officials and fully intend to keep communications open with them should the order from the State of Ohio change," according to post on the expo center's Facebook page. "We deeply regret that we have had to make this decision. However, we do believe that it is the responsible action to take at this time."
