Champaign County confirms 2nd coronavirus case, health district says

The Champaign Health District has reported a second positive test result for COVID-19, or coronavirus, in a Champaign County resident.

The district announced the case in a statement on Thursday morning. The positive case is a female in her 50s, a statement from the health district said, and she is currently hospitalized.

“CHD is continuing to conduct contact investigations with all positive cases,” the statement said. “All contacts of the positive case have been asked to quarantine and are being monitored by CH. Each time a case of COVID-19 is confirmed in Champaign County, anyone who has been in close contact with the positive case will be contacted by the CHD.”
