American Idol’s Springfield concert set for Nov. 12

Singer-songwriter Phillip Phillips, the American Idol season-11 winner, who canceled his May 16 appearance at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, has rescheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 12.

All current tickets will be honored and the Performing Arts Center Ticket Office will be in touch with all ticket holders about the details, Stu Secttor, the facility’s executive director, said Thursday night.

Billboard.com reported late Monday afternoon that “following doctor’s orders, Phillip Phillips has canceled the remaining nine dates of his college tour.

“His doctor said he has to get off the road,” a source told The Hollywood Reporter. “He was playing six shows a week, and it’s too much for him.”

The 22-year-old Leesburg, Ga., resident has had ongoing kidney issues. Surgery last year to remove massive kidney stones, as well as a combination of exhaustion and dehydration, have been slowing him down, according to Billboard.com and The Hollywood Reporter.

Phillips made the announcement official on his Facebook page Monday morning, assuring fans that the nine remaining dates - including one in Dublin - will be honored.

“Hey guys, due to doctor’s orders I have to postpone my last few tour dates. They will be rescheduled!” he wrote. “Looking forward to seeing you all on on the John Mayer tour this summer!”
