AAA: Ohio gas prices down 10 cents from last week

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Prices at Ohio gasoline pumps are down 10 cents this week amid a slump in oil prices.

Those drops were also reflected at area pumps. Kroger, Murphy’s USA and BP on East Main Street in Springfield all sold gas for $2.33 per gallon on Monday afternoon, Nov. 16 — a full 15 cents less than the state average.

However, local gas prices fluctuated greatly, depending on location. Late Sunday night, the BP on South Limestone was selling gas for $2.55 per gallon.

A survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express puts the current statewide average for regular-grade gas at $2.48 per gallon, versus $2.58 last Monday

The cost of crude oil slid to its lowest level in a month on Friday

on evidence that consumers and businesses are continuing to use less gasoline and diesel.

Ohio’s average gas price of $2.48 is steeper than a year ago, when the state’s motorists were paying $1.88 a gallon for regular, on average.
