Funeral today for Graham student killed in car crash


Family, friends and community members are expected to gather at Graham High School on Thursday to remember a sophomore killed in a car accident almost a week ago.

Sara Hess, 15, was killed when a 2005 Honda Accord she was a passenger in was hit on Ohio 235 near Roswell on Friday night. She was a volleyball player, a member of 4-H, a member of the HOSA - Future Health Professionals club and was in the band.

Her visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

“She loved everyone with all her heart and is just in a better place,” said classmate Nadia Ritter at a candlelight vigil earlier this week.

She’s also has been remembered by friends and family as a kind person who enjoyed being heavily involved in her community.

Her funeral is set for 10 a.m. Friday at Westville Methodist Church, 76 N. State Road in Urbana.
