Program Descriptions

Exhibit Challenge: Take an in-depth look at some of the exhibits on-hand at Boonshoft Museum of Discovery Springfield, learning about polar bears, simple machines or more.

Science a la Carte: Visitors of all ages are welcome to Science a la Carte, where you become the scientist. Interact with a series of hands-on science experiments and maybe even take something home.

Science Theater: Witness feats of science and wonder at Boonshoft’s Science Theater show. Chemistry, biology and physics come together and create colorful reactions, interactions and maybe even explosions. Demonstrations are fun for all ages.

Nano Lab: Learn what’s big about what’s really, really small stuff. The Nano Lab has hands-on experiences in the world of nanotechnology. Find out how nanoscale science affects your everyday life.

Animal Talk: Get an up close look at some furry, feathered, scaly and slimy animal friends presented by the Live Animals department.

Mobile Learning: From light and color to paleontology, Mobile Learning brings the science to you. Get hands-on with instruction from one of the staff educators.

Little Scientists: Try a hands-on approach to fun science experiments, good for early learners and their parents.

Science Adventure: Discover the Adventure learning area, learning about planes, spaceships, dinosaurs and more.
