Greenon High School teacher dies; district to offer counselors Tuesday

A Greenon High School Intervention Specialist and Social Studies teacher has died, according to a post on Greenon Local School District’s Facebook page.

Shawn Brickles was a teacher and coach within the Greenon district for 14 years, the post says.

“The Greenon Family is saddened to share that one of our teachers, Mr. Shawn Brickles, passed away,” the post says. “Mr. Brickles has been a dedicated Intervention Specialist and Social Studies Teacher at Greenon High School for many years and has touched the lives of countless students through coaching and teaching during his 14 years at Greenon School.”

Counselors will be available at Greenon Junior/Senior High School on Tuesday, Dec. 3 for any students or staff who would like to speak with someone, the post says.

“He will be deeply missed by many of our students, staff and community members,” the post says.
