Clark State Community College will hold a workshop to assist students in completing applications for available Clark State Foundation scholarships.

“We’re excited to offer these workshops to assist with our scholarship applications,” said director of the Clark State Foundation, Toni Overholser. “We understand that the process of applying for financial aid and submitting scholarship applications can seem daunting.”

Overholser said Clark State’s streamlined scholarship application simplifies the process.

“Students need only submit one general application, and they will be matched automatically with scholarships for which they are eligible,” Overholser said.

The Clark State Foundation scholarships are awarded for financial need, academic performance or a specific program of study to both full-time and part-time students. Scholarships generally open each January for the upcoming year.

There are currently more than 50 different scholarships offered through the Clark State Foundation. Scholarships are awarded for fall and spring semesters.

“Many of our scholarships are awarded based on financial need, not strictly academic achievement,” Overholser said. “We’re here to support students through the entire enrollment process.”

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the Sara T. Landess Technology and Learning Center in Room 103 on the Clark State campus in Springfield.

The workshop is open to current and future Clark State students.
