Driver, student taken to hospital after bus crash

UPDATE @ 10:25 a.m.: The bus driver and a 14-year-old male student were taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center.

Both were up walking and talking at the scene, according to OSP.

The bus sustained heavy damages after it struck several trees and traveled into the field.

OSP’s vehicle-inspection unit responded. Troopers continue to investigate whether there were any mechanical failures on the bus.

FIRST REPORT: The Ohio State Highway Patrol Springfield Post is responding to a school bus crash in the 9000 block of Collins-Arborgast Road.

Crews in Harmony Twp. were dispatched around 8:10 a.m.
