Police are searching the area for a man who ran from police who were closing in to make an arrest.
The man had a warrant out for his arrest and ran away from officers around 8 p.m., according to Springfield police.
The man ran through yards and hopped several fences but was still able to elude police.
Police were in the area of the 500 block of West Euclid Avenue and were bringing in a K-9 team to help track the suspect.
The man’s name has not been released, and it is not known what the warrant is for nor whether the man has a weapon.
