OVI charge filed after car hits house

A suspected intoxicated driver ran into a Springfield Twp. home at 2191 Stowe Drive and left the scene early Monday.

Monte Jakle faces charges of hit-skip, failure to control and OVI. Jakle’s blood-alcohol level was 0.20 when he willingly took a breathalyzer test after the accident, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said.

Pete Sadlier, the homeowner who was asleep inside at the time of the accident, said he awoke to the loud noise of the collision.

“There was a loud crash and the whole house just shook,” Sadlier said.

Sadlier looked outside his window to see the car pulling away from the cul-de-sac.

The damaged vehicle was located a few streets away. The car was identified by the extensive damage and the mortar still on the vehicle, troopers said.

The damage to the house is extensive, and firefighters have advised Sadlier and his family not to try to open their damaged garage door until they make sure the structure is sound.

No one was injured in the accident.
