2 charged after unrest, vandalism in Springfield last weekend

One adult and one youth are now charged in connection to the unrest and vandalism last Sunday night in downtown Springfield.

The arrests are for damage at 22 E. Main St., where 17 windows were smashed the night of May 31, according to a Friday evening news release from the city of Springfield.

The adult was arrested on charges of vandalism and aggravated riot and was taken to the Clark County Jail. Although the police division did not identify the adult, Marc Anthony James Lanham, 19, was booked into the jail Friday on suspicion of vandalism and aggravated riot, jail records show.

The juvenile was arrested on charges of vandalism, aggravated riot and breaking and entering.

The unrest remains under investigation and more arrests are expected, the city said.
