Coronavirus: Only three Clark County providers to receive vaccines next week

Only three of Clark County’s nine COVID-19 vaccine providers will recevie vaccines next week, according to a statement from the Clark County Combined Health District.

It’s unclear why the county’s other four providers will not be receiving doses.

Scheduling for next week’s COVID-19 vaccinations will open at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Individuals who are 65 and older or have a qualifying health condition can schedule an appointment with one of Clark County’s nine providers. Scheduling is available at the following locations:

  • The Clark County Combined Health District, in partnership with Mercy Health, will begin scheduling appointments for qualifying individuals on Friday morning. Appointments can be made by calling 937-717-2439 or at ccchd.com.
  • Rocking Horse Community Health Center, located at 651 S. Limestone St., is offering vaccine appointments only during varied hours. Rocking Horse patients will take priority. Valid identification and insurance information will be collected, however, no one will be turned away due to insurance status. To schedule an appointment call 937-525-4521.
  • The New Carlisle Community Health Center, located at 106 N. Main St. in New Carlisle, is scheduling appointments by phone at 937-543-0310.

Individuals who are developmentally or intellectually disabled and have a qualifying health condition also qualify for vaccination. Qualifying health conditions include Sickle cell anemia, Down syndrome, Cystic fibrosis, Muscular dystrophy, Cerebral palsy, Spina bifida, People born with severe heart defects requiring regular specialized medical care, People with severe type 1 diabetes who have been hospitalized for this in the past year, Phenylketonuria (PKU) Tay-Sachs and other rare inherited metabolic disorders, Epilepsy with continuing seizures; hydrocephaly; microcephaly and other severe neurological disorders, Turner syndrome, fragile X syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome and other severe genetic disorders, People with severe asthma, who have been hospitalized for this in the past year, Alpha and beta thalassemia, Solid organ transplant candidates and recipients.
