Once again, the Northeastern levy has failed. Is it possible to separate Northridge/Kenton Ridge from South Vienna/Northeastern? This district covers such a large vicinity and is failing because of the farmers living in the more rural areas. Separate the two areas and maybe we can get it passed.
Congratulations, voters in the Northeastern school district. Once again, the people have reminded the powers that be that we are in a deep recession. We just don't have any extra to give you.
Since it cost around $10,000 for the Northeastern school board to hold a special election, I do not remember being asked if it was OK to spend my tax dollars on this. Maybe it could have been better used for clogged pipes.
It would be informative to have a weekly doctor's column in the paper. Dr. Paul Donohue would be a welcome addition. Maybe replace Heloise once a week.
