There will be a free Trauma Relief and Healing Workshop from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11 at The Brightside Music & Event Venue in downtown Dayton.
Organizers emphasized that this event is for everyone.
โEveryone deals with these things differently, whether youโre holed up at home depressed or you get inย โgo, go, go modeโโ self care is so important right now,โ said Libby Ballengee, co-organizer of the Workshop.
Ballengee, owner of Venus Child Productions, and Anjali Brannon, owner of Ayurveda Natural Health Center in Beavercreek, put together this event to help their community work through the pain. Brannon, who has studied and is an expert in traumatic resolution, put together a similar workshop earlier this summer following the Memorial Day Tornadoes.
Venus Child Productions, Ayurveda, VeganDayton, Illuminate Dayton, Janae Christopher, Heartfulness Dayton and The Brightside are all collaborating to offer a day of free therapeutic sessions and community togetherness.
Donations will be accepted that will be split between The Dayton Foundation Tragedy Fund andย Moms Demand Action.
The workshopโs schedule includes the following free sessions:
