Breaking mews: Famed ‘Kitten Lady’ coming to Dayton

One of the nation’s best known cat ladies is coming to Dayton for a special fundraiser.

Gem City Catfe owner Karin Gudal-Johnson says "Kitten Lady" Hannah Shaw will be in town Jan. 19 for a fundraiser  in support of Gem City Kitties, the cat cafe's nonprofit arm.

“She’s doing an educational presentation and workshop on community cats,”  Johnson said. “She is one of the of the biggest animal welfare advocates and has made a real difference.”

Gem City Kitties partners with local shelters and rescues to help adoptable cats find homes and educate the community about animal welfare issues.

Shaw offers consultation, workshops and training resources to help shelters on a range of topics including orphan kitten fostering , bottle feeding and care.
