FORT LORAMIE — Country Concert 2010 was dealt a big blow 2 weeks ago when superstars Brooks & Dunn had to cancel their appearance, but the lineup for the three-day event is still chock full of big names.

As difficult as it is to fathom, the loss of Brooks & Dunn came with a silver lining: Hank Williams Jr., who replaces Brooks & Dunn.

“He’s been a popular request for us in the past, but it never worked out due to scheduling,” said organizer Paul Barhorst.

Almost every big name star on the country circuit has performed at the concert, which started three decades ago as a small party, featuring a local band and homemade wine. It’s gone on to attract as many as 77,000 people, according to the founders, Mike and Mary Jo Barhorst.

The outdoor music festival held at the Hickory Hills Lakes campground in Fort Loramie used to be a Thursday through Sunday event, but this year it has gone to a three-day Thursday through Saturday format.

There are options galore for those who attend. People can come to the concert and leave afterwards or camp there. Big names will play on the main stage while up-and-coming acts will perform in the saloon. Even the ticket packages come with a choice: single-day tickets or three-day passes.

Vendors will be on hand selling food, beer, hats and other items.
