Mike DeWine says there's 'plenty of time' to announce run for governor

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine was live on AM 1290 and News 95.7 WHIO today, but he's still not confirming his run for governor.

“I’ve made no secret in the fact that I’m interested in running governor," DeWine told Miami Valley's Morning News host Larry Hansgen.

“If I was elected governor I would be the first Miami Valley resident to be elected since James Cox, which is almost 100 years ago," he said.

There is one other Miami Valley resident in the race. Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, a Democrat.

“I’m not really ready to make any announcement. There’s plenty of time," he said. “These campaigns are long enough without me making it longer.”
