Kasich at 7th in new CNN poll

Ohio Gov. John Kasich was in 10th place in the Republican presidential poll average that got him on the FoxNews debate stage earlier this month, but a new poll out today has him at 7th. The boost could help him make the CNN debate in September.

The CNN-ORC poll has Kasich at 5 percent, tied with Carly Fiorina.

Donald Trump is still in the lead with 24 percent.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is second at 11 and Dr. Ben Carson is third at nine.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker are tied at eight and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is at 6.

Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee and Chris Christie are right behind Kasich at 4 percent.All other candidates are at 2 or lower.You can read the full poll results here.
