Clinton backers go nuclear against Trump

A pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC is launching a 30-second TV ad in battleground states that implies Donald Trump can't be trusted with the nuclear codes.

Priorities USA political action committee bought $5 million in air time in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Iowa and Nevada for the spot that is dubbed "I love war."

Using Trump's own words about war, nuclear weapons and ISUS, the ad paints Trump as too dangerous to be president of the United States.

The ad uses images from nuclear weapons tests, the Vietnam war, ISUS fighters and more. It is reminiscent of a TV spot used once by Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964, titled "Daisy." In that famous 60-second ad, a little girl stands in a field plucking petals off a flower while mission control counts down to a nuclear launch. The camera zooms into her eye to show a mushroom cloud as LBJ intones: "These are the stakes: to make a world in which all of God's children can live."
