When Pence arrived at the theater for a performance of the blockbuster play Hamilton, he was booed by some of those in attendance, and then the cast delivered him a message afterwards, urging the Trump Administration to be more open and inclusive.
The actor who played Aaron Burr led the charge, as the cast proudly repeated their call on social media as well.
"We, sir, are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights,” said Brandon Dixon, who plays Burr.
"We truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us," he added.
Trump is spending the weekend outside New York, at his golf retreat in New Jersey. He said on Twitter last night that he plans to make more choices for his administration.
