RELATED: Longtime, popular Clark County pizza restaurant closes
The business closed in the middle of July and was vacant until November, when Morrow, a teacher working for Dayton Public Schools, decided to retire early and re-open the pizza restaurant. The space went through a complete restoration with new equipment, floor, ceiling, paint and walls added.
Morrow started the business back in 1976 selling pizza and sandwiches and sold it to one of his employees, David Asterino, back in 1994. When Asterino retired in 2014, Morrow bought the business back before selling it again six months later.
The Barn had opened a second location in Medway in the fall of 2016, which also closed in July.
Now that the business is up and running again, Morrow said he’s surprised by the number of patrons that come in on a daily basis.

“They have been pounding my doors down,” he said. “All I have to do is put up an open sign. It’s been so busy it’s just unreal.”
Morrow said that the popularity stems from a consistent menu and the fact that the building has been a landmark for so many years, which was an old general store when he took it over. He doesn’t have any plans of leaving the business soon.
“I am 63 now and as long as I can do it, I’ll still be here,” Morrow said.
